The Dark and Hollow Places - Cover Revealed!
YAY! I finally get to post the US cover for The Dark and Hollow Places! I know many of you have seen versions of this cover out and about but they were still working on some tweaks and I wanted to make sure I had the final file before posting. But here it is! I am IN LOVE with this cover! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I love the model, I love the dirt and grime, I love where she is, I love the expression on her face, I love everything. It fits the story sooo well and I just feel like the luckiest author in the entire world.
Here's the back cover copy:
There are many things that Annah would like to forget: the look on her sister’s face when she and Elias left her behind in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, her first glimpse of the horde as they found their way to the Dark City, the sear of the barbed wire that would scar her for life. But most of all, Annah would like to forget the morning Elias left her for the Recruiters.
Annah’s world stopped that day and she’s been waiting for him to come home ever since. Without him, her life doesn’t feel much different from that of the dead that roam the wasted city around her. Then she meets Catcher and everything feels alive again.
Except, Catcher has his own secrets -- dark, terrifying truths that link him to a past Annah’s longed to forget, and to a future too deadly to consider. And now it’s up to Annah -- can she continue to live in a world drenched in the blood of the living? Or is death the only escape from the Return’s destruction?
Right now, the release date is scheduled to be March 22, 2011! YAY! Here's a link to a recent post about ARCs and who to contact to request one. Please leave any questions in the comments and I'll try to answer them all!
You can also pre-order The Dark and Hollow Places: [Amazon] [Barnes & Noble] [autographed copy from Park Road Books -- my local indie] (I'll add links to IndieBound, etc., as they come available)
Also, don't forget I'll be at the Decatur Book Festival this weekend and appearing on the Vampires vs. Zombies Smackdown panel on Saturday at 3PM! More details are here.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who's emailed or tweeted to tell me you're looking forward to The Dark and Hollow Places -- you truly make my day!

Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's alone in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart. (less)
review: I LOVE this series and cant wait for book three! The book leaves u with several questions and kinda leaves u hanging. But the ending to me, was very satisfying. The characters are great. There is a lot of action, adventure, sadness, love, hate and mystery to this book. It is a great fantasy book that allows u to dive into the faery world and dream awhile. In my opinion , a MUST read.

My trip to Border's Bookstore today!
I took a trip to Border's today to see if I could find volume 2 of "Wicked Lovely" manga series. (They were out of stock!) Grrr....
BUT, the good news is I found out the third volume of "The Maximum Ride" manga series is out! YAY, happy dance, happy dance. So needless to say, I bought it! I will post pic of cover for you.
Then, I just hung out in the manga section, which in our Borders, is 3 long shelving units with 4 stories of shelves on each main shelf. Now thats ALOT of manga! LOL There are so many to choose from and I am such a sucker for the art work! I have been considering reading "Fruit Baskets" but havent picked it up yet. Spencer loves "Black Butler" and I am anxious to read it soon. But I wanted to find a new manga series to read so I picked out "Black Bird" and it seems really cool. Spencer has already taken off with it to his room to read first! LOL But I will read soon and do a review on them.
So I see myself quickly becoming not only a YA Fiction Freak but a YA Manga Freak too!
So my Border's visit was awesome today, book haul coming up soon on our youtube channel and I have 3 books to do review vids on soon! So stay tuned to our youtube channel.
Happy Reading! :D
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
WOW! I really wasnt too sure about this book when I first started reading it. BUT, after about the chapter 10 or 11, I really got into it and esp. after chapter 18, I just couldnt put it down. I cant wait for Crescendo (book two) with a release date of October, 19, 2010. YAY! :D It was an exciting , action-packed (esp. towards the end) and of course, some sexiness and Love! The characters are very likeable and intriguing, and the story flows along quickly, there are no boring parts to this book! YA Fiction Freaks def. recomend reading this book, you won't be disappointed. The cover gives away the fact that this book is about angels and possibly fallen angels, but there is so much more to the world this author creates! Loved it!
Be sure to check out Becca Fitzpatrick's website where you can now read the prologue and first chapter of book two "Crescendo"

New Mortal Instruments series announcement
S&S Signs Cassandra Clare to Two More Books
By Rachel Deahl
Simon & Schuster has signed books five and six in Cassandra Clare's bestselling YA series, The Mortal Instruments. S&S says there are more than three million copies of the series' three published titles in print. Clare launched The Mortal Instruments in 2007, with City of Bones, about a teenage demon slayer; City of Ashes and City of Glass followed. Book four, City of Fallen Angels, is scheduled for April 2011.
Karen Wojtyla, editorial director of Margaret K. McElderry Books, bought U.S. rights to the two new titles from Barry Goldblatt at Barry Goldblatt Literary. The two new books under contract--City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire--are scheduled, respectively, for May 2012 and September 2013.
Clare will also be touring, in late August, to promote Clockwork Angel, which is the first title in the prequel series to The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices. Film rights to The Mortal Instruments have been optioned by Unique Features.

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side
Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am utterly and completely in LOVE with this book and LUCIUS! When this book started out, I could totally picture it as a Disney movie but then it got a little more intense and dark, but it totally plays out like a film! I actually listened to the audio and really enjoyed listening becuz the lady does all the different voices and when Lucius writes home to his uncle, it is a guys voice. Lucius is a Romania vampire and the audio does the accent which is cool! This is a great LOVE story. It is torture at times though not knowing how things will end up. The story keeps u really interested and u grow to LOVE the characters except for Faith Cross! (LOL) U will see what I mean when u read it! Beth Fantaskey is a wonderful story teller. Her writing style reminded me of Stephenie Meyer, whom I love! Be sure to read the extra story on the authors website after reading this book! BUT WARNING: DO NOT look at her site until u have read the book becuz it is a MAJOR SPOILER on her site! I was actually spoiled when I had only a few chapters to go! aaahhh....
