The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated GuideThe Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I went ahead and rated this guide even though I have not read it entirely through. It is packed with info and someday I hope to read it all, but the "new" stuff is mainly about the history of the Volturi and all the Vampires that the Cullens meet through the book series. I am not really interested in their story right now for some reason. There are some extras, like little side stories that are really good, but I had already read them on Stephanie's website. I was hoping there would be more of that type thing.

BUT, I give the book a 5 because it is a big beautiful colorful book. It has many pictures throughout the book, showing you what the characters really should look like. If you have the Twilight graphic novels than you have seen the gorgeous Edward of course. But it has Renessmee who is just adorable! A really cool thing is it shows what the wedding dress that Stephanie described for Bella really looks like. The really awesome thing to see is that the Breaking Dawn, part 1 movie had that very dress, it designed very close to S.Meyer's vision.

A really great part of the book for me, other than staring at how flawless and beautiful Edward is (lol) is that the playlists that Stephanie did for each book is listed and even better, she can read the quote or the part of the book that she was writing while listening to that song. I really love her playlists and they do fit with her books so well. I wish the movies would've used her songs that she picked for the series, that would have rocked!

So, I recommend this to ALL Twilight addicts! Enjoy :)

Nightshade (Nightshade, #1)Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book would be a 3.5 if I could give a half point! lol

This book was really wierd for me...I LOVE the cover of the book and Angie loves this series, so I finally listened to the audio. I was really enjoying it up until about half way through the book and then I just kinda lost interest. I am not sure what it was. I am thinking it has something to do with I don't really like the main character and her choices, (in actions, and in love interest).

Also though, the writing seemed a little "over the top" at times. I am not sure whether this is the way the audio voice read it and made it seems too dramatic or if it was the writing, but I am gearing towards it was the writing. The author uses lots of adjectives to describe things and it just seemed too gushy sometimes to me.

I did really like the pacing of the book though. I hate when a book has a character questioning the whole book and then the last few chapters fill you in with answers. This book did not do that, the author filled you in at a really good pace and left some things unanswered for book two.

This was a story and a world that I really just wanted to know how it was going to end and get out of.

I think overall, this got a 3 and it is not going to be a favorite series of mine, it mostly because I do not like books about wolves and even though they call themselves guardians, they are wolves.

I should do a vid on our "yafictionfreaks" youtube channel that explains why I don't like wolves! lol

Airhead (Airhead, #1)Airhead by Meg Cabot

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. This is my second Meg Cabot book. There is a book two "Being Nikki" and a book three "Runaway" that I am really looking forward to reading. I am finding that I really like Meg Cabot's stories! I always that her books were really girly chick-lit but I was so wrong. the covers to her books, although I do like them, are misleading as to what the book is really focused on. This one has mystery , suspense and a whole fantasy type element to it that I really enjoyed.

I plan to read plenty more of her books. I can't really say very much at all about this book without giving spoilers, so just trust me and go read it! lol

I have never read this kind of story, so it is fresh, new and interesting.

On to book two! :)

The Night CircusThe Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hmmmm.........this book was really hard to rate. The writing was very descriptive and beautiful. The magic and fantasy were very dream-like and vivid to picture in your mind. I enjoyed the first half of the book, but then it got very confusing. I couldn't keep up with who was who and I don't know that I fully grasped the whole concept of this book.

It just seemed "over my head" in the second half of the book. Things happen that I didn't understand and I don't know that the author gave answers for things that happened.

I listened to the audio which was a delight to listen to because it is performed by Jim Dale, who also performed all the Harry Potter audios. He does a fantastic job at really bringing the characters personalities into the audio.

I am not sure I would have continued with this book if I had been reading it, because I was so confused, but I stuck with Jim Dale. LOL

So again, writing was great, story was confusing. It almost seemed to me like the author had this great story and didn't really know how to end it? I also felt as if the story was so "fantasical" that I couldn't completely grasp it?

I am glad that I got through it. I wonder if anyone else had my experience? Not sure whether to recommend? I told my sister about it, but then went back and told her to read at her own risk, because I had gotten so confused. Maybe she will read it and explain it to me....lol

The Dead and the Gone (Last Survivors, #2)The Dead and the Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great book. Just as good as the first book "Life as we knew it" except I think maybe a little bit better. This one is from a guys perspective and how he and his family tries to survive. They are living in New York.

This is a very good series that stays on your mind and really makes you think about what you would do and would you be able to make some of the choices that these people make?

Looking forward to book three...

Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1)Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book. It freaks you out a bit. Because it is about surviving in a world with natural disasters, low food supplies, etc. You will want to run out and buy an enormous amount of tuna and canned meat and veggies! lol

This is book one. Book two is called: The Dead and the Gone. It is a companion book of another family trying to survive. Then there is a book three. (havent read three yet, but plan to)

This book does have a few slow parts, but it is written as a diary and overall pretty interesting and you really want to know the outcome. This is one of those books that really gets you thinking and lingers on your mind way after you read it.

For anyone who likes the "end of the world" type books, its a must read!

Abandon (Abandon Trilogy, #1)Abandon by Meg Cabot

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first time reading a book written by Meg Cabot and I LOVED it! :) It is an amazing read! This book drew me in from the first few pages. I have not picked any of her books up, because I always thought that her books were "chick-lit" which is not one of my favorite genre's. I do love the "Princess Diaries" stories but have only watched the movies.

Now, I am wanting to read EVERYTHING that Meg (yes, we are on a first name basis, lol, (not really)has written because I enjoyed this book so much. She says that what sparked the idea for this story was her fascination of Persephone and Hades. I also have always liked their story/myth. So knowing that and seeing this book cover I just couldn't resist reading this book. I had picked it up several times, either in book stores or looked at it on my Kindle or Amazon online. The cover always drew me in. I finally saw it at the library and decided to check it out (literally, lol) and I told myself.......I said , "Self....just read a few pages and see if u like it, if not take it back to the library." and I answered myself and said "Okay! I will do it."

So......I read the first page, the second , the third.........then the first chapter, the second, the third..........and then I just couldn't stop. I had to know what in the heck would happen to Pierce and how the underworld would effect her.

I have read on reviews that some people say it had slow parts. WHAT????? I just don't get that. Because I work a full time job and have a family to take care of, it usually takes me a while to read any book unless I am in love with it and even then sometimes it will take a while. BUT, this book, I started on Friday and was finished by Monday! I even took it to an amusement park on Sunday and read every time I was waiting on someone to get on or off a ride.

Also, I have read that some people think it is confusing. I kinda do get that. Because there are things that the reader doesn't understand in the beginning and of course the underworld is a new concept. But the author guides you along and you continue to find out what is happening throughout the book.

I will say the only negative (little bit) that I will say, is that it took me a little while, maybe a quarter of the book to half, to settle into Meg Cabot's writing style. Again, I havent read anything else of hers YET! But, she tends to write long sentences with thoughts popped into the middle of them. You get used to it, but sometimes I had to go back and read the original start of the sentence.

I was so happy to know that this is going to be a series and book two "Underworld" will be out summer of 2012! yay :) Meanwhile, I am reading "Airhead" by Meg Cabot (On chapter 5 and liking so far) and I just received "Insatiable" (her adult series) on my Kindle from the library. She has written so many books, I will be plenty busy until "underworld" gets here. I think I am going to read the whole "Princess Diaries" series too!

Love MEG CABOT! Go GET THIS BOOK! You won't regret it :)

Oh, and very clean.......this book can be read by younger teens, older teens, and anyone young at heart :)
